The product, in the report: Air Handler Filter

The consumer indicates that he has multiple chemical sensitivity. Approximately five years ago, the consumer received three air handlers from the company he worked at and has been using them along with air handler filters from the same company. The consumer noticed that he has been getting sick more often than usual for the past couple of years but he was unsure of the cause.

~03/18/2019 - The consumer contacted the Manufacturer of his air handler filters explaining that they were emitting a chemical-like smell that were making him nauseas, fatigued, irritable, exhausted, and were giving him headaches; he was informed they would send him them replacement filters.

03/28/2019 - The consumer installed the air filters and woke up extremely sick the next day so he states that he knows they are the cause of his deteriorated health. The consumer removed the air filters from the air handlers and has been feeling much better.

The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; he asked what the air filters contained and was subsequently e-mailed a safety data sheet however it did not contain any chemicals listed.

The consumer indicates that he plans on keeping his air filters for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
