Hurt, care not known Made Feb 3, 2023, sent to the company Feb 7, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 22, 2023
The product, in the report: I ordered the “NU Aqua 4-Stage Countertop Reverse Osmosis System with Hot Water” online https://nuaquasystems.com/products/nu-aqua-countertop-reverse-osmosis-system. It provides warm water for making baby formula.
I ordered the “NU Aqua 4-Stage Countertop Reverse Osmosis System with Hot Water” on 10/21/2022 online https://nuaquasystems.com/products/nu-aqua-countertop-reverse-osmosis-system.
The seller sent me a defective product. The product is designed to provide low Total Dissolved Solids (tds <30) water for baby formula. But what I tested the water quality is as poor as larger than 500+ tds, there is almost no difference to drinking non-filter tap water. That is not recommended water quality for baby formula.
Their produce shows the water quality coming out from the machine is 99 TDS. It’s CHEATING customers. Their produce has the flaw of misleading output TDS value. The maximum output value is 99, but that doesn’t mean the water quality is 99 TDS, actually what I tested with a qualified testing pen shows the water quality is 506 TDS. I have kept all the receipts, photos, videos, and products and I can attest that there is serious problem with the water they provide, not at all the water quality they advertise.
Due to their carelessness and design flaws of the product, my 4-month baby is exposed to potential health risks from drinking substandard quality water for baby formula. If it weren’t for my tireless verification and testing of the water quality provided by their products, my children would continue to drink the unsafe and substandard drinking water provided by their products. I cannot estimate the potential injury and risks for my little baby.
During the month my 4-month baby was using the high TDS water from the defective product, he had turned out of frequent nausea and vomiting. I know baby reflux happens to little babies, but we tried smaller feeds and carefully use an inclined feeding position to feed, but it didn’t help too much. When I found something wrong with their product, I immediately stopped using the water they provided and used the tested low-tds water (around 30 tds), and my baby’s spit-up situation has been greatly improved.
This seller showed terrible customer service: delayed response time, non-professional product troubleshooting consultation; and finally deleted my account on their website to prevent me from submitting my review on their website. All of these very bad customer service quality experiences and the bad water provided by the defective quality products injured my baby, so I decided that I must report this unscrupulous merchant.
