The product, in the report: PGAPXCAR2020 Air Filter

I ordered air filters for our home whole house air purification system for our family with 2 toddlers. The order was placed for PGAPXCAR2020 from Homesergeant.com. We noticed a strong tire/plastic smell. We thought it would be ok and it would go away. We put the filter in our a/c unit. It made the whole house smell like tires and then later alcohol. It wasn’t very long before we noticed a blinking light. So we thought it was defective and wasn’t aligned properly so we took it out and placed in the second filter. The filter broke a little as we were taking it out which has not happened to us before when purchasing the same filter from previous companies. We put in the second filter and it still smelled bad. We thought it just needed to cycle through. Again, it made the house smell like tires/plastic/ and then rubbing alcohol. We have it several hours to see if it would clear. It did not. The odor was so bad that my throat started to feel like it was closing up. I now have a sore throat that sometimes when I swallow it feels like my throat skin is going to rip from being so inflamed and tight. My 3 year old and 1 year old were already battling a small cold. That is why we changed the filters. And they started showing symptoms of being effected by the odor as well. It actually seems like there is a chemical on these filters that is not supposed to be there. We removed the second filter and replaced it with the original filter we had that we were trying to replace. It’s now been several hours and our whole home smells like a harmful chemical. When I go to the bedrooms where my kids are sleeping, my throat feels dry like it’s been dowsed in rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover
