The product, in the report: Home Depot HDX generic brand water filter
The product is a refrigerator water filter HDX generic brand distributed by Home Depot. What happened that made you want to report? Identified that using the product has resulted in health problems. What type of product(s) were being used? MODEL# 107019 HDX refrigerator filter DS2 Who was using the product(s)? Entire family of five, including three kids age 9 through 5, for the last few years. (So far doesn’t seem that everyone affected the same way) How were the product(s) being used? Refrigerator water filter replacement Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? When drinking through the refrigerator water tap I experience esophageal burning, reflex cough interrupting sleep, abdominal spasm in the mornings. These symptoms appear immediately after drinking the water thru this product or within the first 24 hours. Taking the city water from the kitchen faucet does not produce the same result/symptoms. Symptoms seem to improve somewhat after the filter is used for a few months, but when replaced with a new filter of the same model the symptoms return to their peak. Other family members have reported stomach issues at times, but I seem to be the primary one affected. How did any injuries occur? When using this product as intended seems to cause this adverse Health effect. Switching back and forth between water sources as help to isolate the problem to this product.
