The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jan 7, 2023, sent to the company Jan 11, 2023, published by CPSC Jan 26, 2023

    The product, in the report: 3M Filtrete Air Cleaning Filter UPC 051141360034 (manufacturer label number(s) FPLO2-2PK-24, 20 x 20 x 1, 70-0091-1541-4)

Suffered chronic respiratory distress and chronic sinusitis from exposure to particulate filter material shedding from a 3M Filtrete Air Cleaning Filter UPC 051141360034 (manufacturer label number(s) FPLO2-2PK-24, 20 x 20 x 1, 70-0091-1541-4) that were being used as a pre-filter for the air handling system’s higher efficiency filter.

This particulate filter material shedding from the 3M Filtrete Air Cleaning Filter was passing through the air handling system’s higher efficiency 3M Filtrete 1900 Premium Allergen, Bacteria and Virus main filter. A fine layer of white particulate material dust was present throughout the residence and exposed all residents of the household to the material.

Removing the 3M Filtrete Air Cleaning Filter UPC 051141360034 from the air handling system eliminated the chronic respiratory distress and chronic sinusitis experience by the household members and the accumulation of fine layers of white particulate material dust.

Injury resulted in chronic bronchitis in one member of the household and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in another member of the household.

I believe the performance of the 3M Filtrete 1900 Premium Allergen, Bacteria and Virus main filter UPC 051111543290 should also be evaluated for it’s actual performance and possible shedding of it’s particulate filter material.
