The product, in the report: A 24 inch X 30 inch beveled mirror assembly. 2 pieces; glass mirror attached to a backer board with brackets to wall mount/hang mirror.
I purchased a mirror from Amazon.com on 14 May 2022 that was being sold from their vender, The Red Company. After the remodel of the rarely used guest bathroom I installed the mirror on 13 June 2022 above the vanity. On the morning of 7/14/23 the mirror crashed onto the vanity and floor causing damage to both. Only the mirror backing board remained on the wall. Thankfully, the bathroom was unoccupied or it would have required a trip to the ER as the event was so catastrophic. In my observation of the two piece mirror assembly, a thin backing board and the glass mirror, it appears that the adhesive was sparsely used or was the incorrect adhesive to hold the heavy glass mirror. The mirror separated from the backing board leaving the backing board on the wall since the hangers for the mirror assembly are attached to the backing board. This mirror assembly is very dangerous. I have contacted Amazon.com about this safety issue and they were to investigate. I checked the Amazon website at the time of the mirror failure to find that this mirror was not available. I have pictures and have retained the mirror backing board and the largest piece of broken mirror for inspection if needed.
