  1. First aid

Made May 31, 2017, sent to the company Jun 8, 2017, published by CPSC Jun 22, 2017

The product, in the report: Glass mirror round 33”. Hobby Lobby item 517573

Mirror was hanging in a private home on an interior wall, in a non traffic area. Installed approx six months ago (1/17). Mirror was supplied with two cutouts to install hooks into the 0.025” pressboard backing. We used a wall hook rated at 50 pounds (mirror approx 5 pounds), wire rated at 50 pounds, hooks rated at 50+ pounds....

Hanging support of the mirror is designed to use two cutouts in the pressboard backing. The mirror fell off the wall and shattered into tiny shards of glass covering an area 9’ x 12’. The obvious reason the mirror fell is where the hooks were attached into the pressboard the pressboard tore away and failed to hold the mirror.

Mirror was purchased from Hobby Lobby and installed approx 6 months ago. Round 33” mirror item number 517573. Made in China.
