The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: TACKLife Outdoor gas firepit

Purchased an outdoor gas fire pit from Amazon. The brand is TACKLife. Contained in the shipment were lava rocks to be used with the product. After about a month of use, one evening while sitting next to the fire pit I heard a pop and was hit by an exploding piece of lava rock at the corner of my eye. The skin was burned ! After an online search I discovered the rocks absorb moisture and can explode when heated! Need I say more that a product such as this should not be used AT ALL with fire pits! Fire glass is the recommended product to be used with outdoor gas fire pits.
