  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 10, 2013, sent to the company Jul 18, 2013, published by CPSC Aug 1, 2013

The product, in the report: Sunjoy outdoor wood burning fireplace Description: This recall involves “Garden Treasures Living” steel outdoor fireplaces with a bronze finish chimney and slate colored accents. The wood burning fireplace is approximately 24 inches deep by 35 inches wide and 57 inches tall, has two glass doors and a tile back inside. Item number 0027705 and model number L-OF082PST-3 are printed on the front page of the product’s instruction manual

Back when this fireplace was originally recalled in 2011, we hadn’t yet used it. So, the replacement hood that was sent to us, is working fine. However we are now experiencing other issues with the fireplace body itself and have safety concerns. We have used this fireplace about 10-15 times in the last year (which isn’t much). We didn’t start using until 2012. It is covered and protected from the elements when not in use. We used it this past Saturday evening, were surprised to see some bubbling & smoking of paint near the bottom, and also the stone work started falling off (I can providee pictures). It would appear this is another recall type event, and would like to have a replacement bottom sent to us. This should not be happening with a fireplace that costs the amount of money that this one, with the limited use we’ve given it. We are now not using it, feeling there may be another safety issue and are concerned with it starting to now fall apart.
