The product, in the report: Solo Stove Bonfire 19.5” Fire Pit

I suffered 2nd degree burns on my leg when I walked past the solo stove. My calf touched the outside of the solo stove and burned my leg. I received medical treatment for this injury and am still under medical care to this date. The outside of the solo stove does not have a protective barrier to prevent these injuries and a separate purchase for heat protective barrier must be made to prevent these injuries.

The legs weakened and fell off the Solo Stove Yukon Pi Fire. One leg was bendy and broke at the weld, then another. The third has stayed attached. No injuries because we were taking it out of the shelter and getting ready to put it onto our yukon solo stove. Losing a leg or two while on top of the solo stove would have made the Pi Fire tip over and burn someone.

The product, in the report: Solo Brands - Solo Stove Bonfire. 20 inch diameter

On the evening of May 5, 2023, I had started a fire in my Solo Stove which was placed on the pool deck behind my home. We have approximately 10 fires a year at our home, but converted to the Solo Stove last fall. My daughter who was 12 came down and was talking to me as she stood next to the fire pit, back to it, to warm herself. Accidentally, she stepped backwards and made brief contact with the outer metal surface of the Solo Stove. She received a 2nd degree burn approximately 4-5 inches long down her calf. We have had bonfires with our children present nearly all their lives, taught fire safety, and my daughter is more responsible than most. There was no horseplay going on. It’s concerning to me that such a brief contact with this stove can lead to such a large and severe burn. I think this product is defective and can lead to more injuries given the heat level and lack of cooling material around the stove. With other traditional stoves we’ve never had an issue - they are either of a material that doesn’t get extremely hot, have a ring around the circumference, or other safety mechanism. Solo has released a surround now for its stoves, costing about as much as the entire stove itself. It appears the company is attempting to profit from its inherent design defect.

The product, in the report: Solo Stove, Bonfire model, https://www.solostove.com/solo-stove-bonfire/

On two occasions I was burned by a Solo Stove, once on my foot, once on my hand. This was at a friend’s house. Approx Feb 2021, the stove was set up on a backyard deck, I was seated approx 2 feet from the stove. It was night time and, therefore, relatively dark outside. There was a fire in the stove. The fire had been burning about 2 hours. As I was stretching my body, as one might do when relaxing, my bare foot came into contact with the outside cylinder of the stove. I instantly pulled away. Three of my toes were burned to the point of needing to ice them for several minutes. The second incident, Jun 13, 2021, when I burned my right hand, was the morning after we’d had a fire in the Solo Stove. The night before we’d burned a fire in the Solo Stove for approximately 2 hours. At the end of the night, while there were still embers in the stove, we put the stainless lid on the stove to keep any ash/embers from escaping and to extinguish the fire. The next morning, expecting the stove to have cooled overnight, I put my right hand on the stainless lid and burned 4 fingers and the palm of my hand. After 3 hours of icing my hand the pain subsided.

The product, in the report: Solo Stove Model Bonfire Stainless Steel Fire Pit. 20lbs,

I bought a stainless steel firepit. The upper edge has razor sharp edges which is not obvious and not addressed in the instructions. When I tried to placed a separately bought top cover offered by the same manufacture, just touching the edge to pulled the cover over caused multiple cuts in my finger. This is dangerous. If I can cause deep cuts just by touching the edge, more severe cut can happen when someone actually grabs the edge or run parts of body across the rim. I did contact the manufacture about this potentially dangerous oversight. The reply I got was the same cut could happen with paper in a notebook. I disagree.
