The product, in the report: This was a Napa brand fire pot that as used as both decoration and as a mosquito repelent with cintronella gel.
I was at a friend’s home and we were on her deck. She had a fire pot and it was lit. As the gel burned down and was almost out, she poured more gel into the pot. As she did this the fire followed the fuel into the bottle and the gel shot out as fireballs all over her deck. I was hit by some of the gel. My left foot was on fire but I was able to remove my shoe quickly and only received a monor burn on my left foot. My right ankle was on fire. I stood up and moved to an area where I could stop, drop and roll. However, this did not extinguish the fire. My husband found a patio pillow and hit the burning area with it until the flames were extinguished. I suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my right ankle. Two weeks after the incident I was hospitalized with heart issues. This ended up being a vagus nerve reaction to the burn.
