  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 17, 2023, sent to the company Oct 30, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 21, 2023

The product, in the report: 48-inch contemporary fire pit

(04/17/2023) The consumer has a safety concern in reference to the product. The flames re-ignite after the gas valve is turned off. Within a few seconds after the fire pit is turned off, there is a poof and then flames. The flames are supposed to go down and go off, but his doesn’t. This happened about four or five times before the fire pit finally turned off.

A technician came out on October 3rd and replaced the regulator and the igniter. The same thing still happened.

The consumer contacted the firm and was referred back to the dealer.

The consumer has only used the product a couple of times since the incident.

At this time, we have had no injuries, but with the erratic nature of the re-ignition and sparks we feel this product may burn someone in the future.

We suggest the following corrections or additions to the report in addition to the above information: 1. The “Poof” and re-ignition happens every time the valve is turned off and can be 1 to 5 re-ignitions. See picture 2. Manufacture of the burner system is The Outdoor GreatRoom Company 3.
