The product, in the report: gas fire pit, model FW-R32TMFP

We just purchased a gas fire pit, model FW-R32TMFP on 10/31/18. When I inspected it for leaks before use, I noticed that the white heat shield (on the underside, below the lava rocks) had a crack in it. I contacted the manufacturer, Foremost Groups, Inc, of East Hanover NJ, and they agreed to send out a replacement fire pit.

On 12/22/18, we used the new fire pit for the first time. Within a few minutes of use, we heard a loud pop. When I inspected the unit the next morning, I observed a crack in the heat shield, similar to on the first unit.

I’m concerned that this unit is unsafe as 2 in a row have had cracked heat shields.
