The product, in the report: Purchased from Amazon.com. Bali Outdoors 28” Gas Fire Pit. Model #SRGF11626-XXX. SKU #LGF06-0010
Several months ago, I purchased a 28 gas fire pit from Amazon, with model #SRGF11626-XXX . I assembled the unit per the instructions and had to wait patiently for the Ohio weather to turn a bit cooler before using this fire pit.
Recently, the weather did change, and I found an opportunity to finally use this fire pit. I used the fire pit for several hours one evening, and after I turned off the gas, and as the unit cooled down, the tabletop insert, where the burner and beads are located, came crashing down onto the propane tank stored inside of the cabinet.
After reviewing this, I observed that the burner insert was not properly installed from the factory. This insert should have been anchored on top of the tabletop assembly with the four corner screws. Instead, this insert was installed from the factory as an undermount to the tabletop, rather than a top mount. This resulted in the pan crashing down onto the propane tank after the unit was turned off and started to cool down. I re-read the assembly instructions again, and there is NO mention having to anchor this insert from the top down.
Fortunately, this collapse occurred after the propane was turned off. If this had collapsed while the propane was on and the burner lit, the result could have been catastrophic.
