The product, in the report: Gas Fire-pit in the center of a stone table-top

Product is a gas fire-pit, used per manufacturer directions (i.e. placed manufacturer provided lava rocks around burner, along with faux logs. The heat created by the flames from the burner melted the metal frame used to hold logs. The manufacturer said they think something fell into the burner area and blocked the flames so the heat transferred into the burner causing the situation, however all visible foreign objects had been cleared prior to initial and all subsequent uses. The burner does not have anything covering it which would prevent something from falling into the burner area, nor is there any indicator that something may be present. This product was manufactured in 2006 and has been working without incident until this situation. I have made numerous attempts to contact the manufacturer and they say since the product is no longer manufactured they are unable to assist and make reference to something potentially falling into the burner area - which it has not, all foreign objects are removed prior to use and has been since purchase/ use... including the most recent uses this year.
