The product, in the report: Aquatic reptile heater
I purchased the TetraFauna Aquatic Reptile Heater on 09/02/2011 and today it started smoking, almost started a fire and nearly killed my turtle. The item needs to be recalled for safety issues and TertraFauna is not taking the issue seriously. I contacted TetraFauna by email to report the incident and this is what they responded:

Please send your defective item to the following address:
3001 Commerce Street Blacksburg VA 24060 Attn: Warranty Department
Also include the following -- -Full name -Full mailing address -Contact phone number -Copy of original receipt -Note stating that you would like a replacement
Once we receive your defective item, and depending on the date of purchase, we will then send out a replacement for you.
