    Dear Sirs/Madams

First I apologize for not fully filling out your report form, but as an 83 y/o I sometimes am technologically challenged!

I am writing about a LASKO small air or space heater that I think is unsafe. I bought 2 in Nov 2021 . The vinyl band around the base partially melted and pulled away from the base In both. The overheat control did not shut the heater down. I called the company and they stated that I should have been vacuuming the front and back grills and using a compressed air canister to blow thru the grills to dust off the fan and heating elements. No such directions came with it in the packaging. There is no air filter that can be removed to clean. There was no obvious lint etc visible to the eye. I don’t think the average consumer would have been able to figure this out on their own. They stated that since I had not been doing this they would not replace them which is not my main concern. I think they are a fire hazard. It is a LASKO Model # CD08200. Serial # H3920010452 made in China. It is still listed on the LASKO web site it is 7 1/2x 5 1/2x 51/2 inches. The separation site is on the front 1 1/2 inches long and 1/4 inches bowed out. Thank you for your efforts that protect the public. [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Lasko CT22445 22” Ceramic Tower Heater

We purchased 3 Lasko CT22445 from Costco. 2 of the three units melted at the end of the chord and each charred and burnt separate outlets on separate breakers. We immediately checked the third unit and the plug was gummy and very hot to the touch as was the outlet as well. We believe this unit in its entirety need to be recalled before some thing more serious than a burnt outlet happens. We’ve notified Lasko and Costco and are waiting on their responses.
