The product, in the report: Space Heater - 360 degree Surround Heat Heater. White in color. 1500 Watt. 2 adjustment knobs. One Heat Setting Knob: Off, Low and Hight settings. One Thermostat Knob - from low to High setting. 7.6 inches Long, 7.6 inched Wide and 11.3 inched High. Number 15915 stamped on electric plug prong. Purchased at Walmart for $62.50

Purchased a Honeywell Model HHF360WWM Space Heater (manufactured by KAZ USA) from Walmart on 10/02/2015. I use it for short period of time during the Winter months only. Recently while using this Space Heater in my bedroom, it overheated, started to smoke and I did see fire for a short time before I unplugged it and took it outside. It did not tip over, was not plugged into an extension cord or had any type covering, air restrictions.

The product, in the report: Honeywell Space Heater

In Feb 2022 my Honeywell Model HCE311v. space heater spontaneously made a clicking noise and a ball of flame about the size of a ping pong ball appeard on the back near where the cord enters the unit. It burned a hole in my carepet. I brought this to the attention of the manufacturer and they claimed “the experience you had encountered is very rare to almost extinct”. They sent me a new unit and I sent the damaged one back for testing. On 12/25/22 a similar incdent happened with the replacement heater. Although there was no ball of flame, I heard the same popping noise, a burning smell and the power cord was severed near where it enters the unit. No one touched the heter, it burned itself to sever the cord. I have pictures of both incidents. I reported this secojd incident to the manufcture, but they have not responded

The product, in the report: Space Heater

The consumer indicates that his daughter turned the space heater on in her room and approximately five to ten minutes later the unit started smoking from the top vent. The consumer’s daughter immediately unplugged the unit and notified her father.

The consumer notes that although there were no physical signs of damage to the unit, when he entered his daughter’s room the smell of smoke still lingered.

The consumer returned the space heater to the store and the person that attended him informed him that three more of the same heaters had been returned as well.

The consumer states that the unit was used only once.

The product, in the report: Home personal space heater

Honeywell Windmere Space Heater #C-3152 I have had this product for a few years, with no issues. Last night it was on for 15 minutes and flames sparked from the top of it. Had I not been watching a television nearby I may not have seen this and it would have been horrible. The inside of the fan is charred black.

The product, in the report: fan heater thermostat 240 volts 10.4 amp 2500 watts

The unit was powered in the on position for approximately 10-15 minutes when the consumer’s wife noticed smoke and flames coming from the top & bottom vents.

She immediately shut the circuit breaker off which extinguished the fire and smoke. There were scorch marks on the top & bottom vents of the unit and the wall that the unit was mounted on. The thermostat is wired to an electric heater (REDACATED); Watts: 4000-3000; Volts: 240-208; Amps: 8.7.

The consumer installed the unit himself in 2006 and has two other units in the home. He has not experienced a failure with the other two units, although there is heat discoloration.

The consumer states that he was not home when the incident occurred. He states that the unit was on earlier in the daytime then powered off & when the incident occurred it was powered back in the on position again.

The firm was contacted on 3/19/2012 and the consumer was advised to send back in the unit for inspection. The consumer states that he was offered a free replacement unit if he sent the unit back into them. The consumer declined in sending the unit back.

The consumer was given a case number with the firm (case REDACTED) the name of the representative that he spoke with not provided.

The unit has been removed from the wall and replaced with another brand and he still has the unit. The consumer states that he noticed that the unit was showing signs of overheating. He noticed one of the warning labels (a sticker) became discolored all units.

The consumer also states that he is concerned with the other two units still in the home posing a fire hazard. The consumer noticed a recall for similar models (see release #11-289) that experienced a similar hazard that he did. His model number was not included in the recall.
