No one hurt Made May 4, 2020, sent to the company May 12, 2020, published by CPSC May 27, 2020
The product, in the report: Holmes HOH3000. White in color. Approximately 3 feet tall Model HOH3000
I own a Holmes oil filled 1500 watt heater that today when operating sprayed boiling hot oil out of what is an obvious defect in the product. I found the recall on your website (https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2015/sunbeam-recalls-holmes-oil-filled-heaters) and attempted to fill out Holmes online form and it was not functional. I then called them and they wanted to replace it with a tiny junk humidifier or tiny junk fan, neither of which I’m interested in.
They claim the ‘date code’ on my cord does not match their warranty - although the issue, the model number and the photos on the recall page are all identical. I’d like you to force them to expand their recall of this product and refund or replace with similar value another product that is of interest. It has ruined the carpet in my home office as well as a desk cabinet and some of it’s contents.

Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 3, 2016, sent to the company Jul 12, 2016, published by CPSC Jul 26, 2016
The product, in the report: Holmes Products convection space heater model HLH4422M
I purchased a convection space heater at Home Depot, manufactured by Holmes Products, a brand of Sunbeam Corp doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions, on March 5, 2015. It is model HLH4422M. When turning the heater on for the first time, it emitted a noxious, choking odor that also burned the eyes. I placed it outdoors and ran it on a high setting for two hours. The odor subsided significantly after this first operation, but it remains to an extent that causes coughing and airway irritation. I am not overly sensitive to allergens or other environment conditions, and my workmates in the office also complained about the noxious fumes. I use the heater sporadically, once every few month, and hoped that it would eventually “burn off” the irritant. However, after a year and a half the noxious fumes continue. After using it a week ago at a low heat setting, my throat became raw and my sinuses were irritated. I decided that this product will never “clean up” and presents a consumer health danger.
I tried to return it to the place of purchase, Home Depot, but the 90 day return period expired and Home Depot said that the issue must be pursued directly to manufacturer, Holmes Products. The manufacturer web page does not readily give contact information, I am still trying to make contact. However, I feel that the CPSC should be notified of the health hazard.
