The product, in the report: Fahrenheat FUH724
I am writing about a heater that I recently purchased. It is a Fahrenheat FUH724 7500w ‘garage heater’. It was installed and worked fine for about a month. It then stopped working and smoke came from the unit. I turned off the power. Removed electrical cover to inspect and found multiple wires of the unit itself melted and coming loose from connection points. I called the manufacturer- Marley Engineered Products and was informed that it was a known problem and they would send out a wiring repair kit. They know the wiring is not able to stand up to the current draw of the heater yet are still selling them. I bought the unit 9/11/2019 and it lasted a month before failure. This seems to me to be a fire hazard. Unit was installed as per their instructions. These units should be recalled immediately in my opinion until they can verify all outgoing units have been ‘updated’.
