The product, in the report: Dyson AM09
I purchased a Dyson AM09 heater under warranty still. While using it, it caught on fire, burned and warped the heater causing toxic fumes to be released, and burned the power strip outlet (that has a surge protector) that it was plugged into. I notified [REDACTED] the Dyson Executive Resolution Specialist, and she rejected giving me a replacement heater, claiming the burn marks were discoloration from cleaners (though I only cleaned with a towel and used a fan to remove dust), claimed the burns were from an external heat source (absolutely no heat sources surrounded the unit). These toxic fumes released caused me severe nausea, and if I did not wake up in the middle of the night, my whole house would have burned. I complained and asked for a 2nd opinion, so I brought it to a Dyson Service Center in Bolingbrook IL, to which I explained the issue to the tech. The tech simply responded with: [REDACTED] already told me not to grant the claim, and to say the issue was caused from dust. The fact [REDACTED] from Dyson is knowingly hiding the fact that their heaters are fire hazards and release toxic fumes, is very dangerous. It is illegal they knowingly see an issue with their products, yet conduct in conspiracies to make their techs lie on their behalf. I have any evidence needed to substantiate my claims.

No one hurt Made Jan 3, 2020, sent to the company Feb 13, 2020, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2020
The product, in the report: I purchased a Dyson Iron/Silver EX-QTV US fan/heater unit from QVC on 10/15/2018. The serial number is SN3-US-KGA6252A.
I am reporting an item that I believe to be unsafe. I purchased a Dyson Iron/Silver EX-QTV US fan/heater unit from QVC on 10/15/2018. The serial number is SN3-US-KGA6252A.
On the evening of 12/23/2019 the fan/heater unit was plugged in, but turned off. The remote control was on the coffee table to the right of the fan/heater unit. I was sitting in a recliner to the right of the coffee table approximately four feet from the fan/heater unit.
While reading emails on the laptop, I heard a noise. I realized the fan/heater unit had turned on. The light showed the heater was on set to 70 degrees. I immediately utilized the remote to turn off the fan/heater unit and unplug it.
On December 26, 2019 at approximately I telephoned Dyson customer service and spoke with [REDACTED]. She said she consulted with the Support Team and could offer no explanation for the unit turning itself on. She offered me a new and upgraded unit which shuts off automatically after eight hours. I explained that I was concerned about the unit turning itself on and potential dangers if it were on for the entire eight hours unbeknownst to me. Thus, I declined the replacement offer. I, of course, realize if the unit was always unplugged except in my presence it could potentially mitigate the perceived danger.
I then telephoned QVC customer service on the evening of December 26, 2019. The representative stated QVC would accept return not later than January 5, 2020 and refund purchase price. The representative was not particularly concerned about the specifics of the incident and the potential unsafe product.

No one hurt Made Feb 20, 2019, sent to the company Mar 25, 2019, published by CPSC Apr 8, 2019
The product, in the report: Dyson AM05 — white fan / heater
Had the Dyson Hot/Cool fan in my sons room at night to keep the room from getting below 70 degrees. It’s been working as expected all winter, but recently I noticed it’s been staying on longer than normal.
I inspected the exterior, and noticed there was some discoloration and the plastic was warped all around the edges. The damage seems consistent with the heating element getting too hot and melting parts of the fan.
I suspect the internals are also damaged, possibly the temperature sensor, as the room gets well above 70 and the fan continues to stay on, when previously it would shut off once the area reached 70.
Dyson refused to acknowledge this fan could have fallen under their recall.
