The product, in the report: Vent free gas space heater Serial # RT03106695
On several occasions the Ritetemp vent free gas heater thermostat has caused the gas to come out of the burner without igniting even though the pilot was burning. 3 times I was not in the room at the time and when I returned to the room it was filled with gas fumes - the pilot was burning in each occasion. On several other occasions I was present - sometimes the burner lit with a woooofffff. Other times I turned heater off by lowering the thermostat then when I turned it back up it lit correctly. It is certainly an unsafe situation and I feel lucky my house didn’t explode.
