The product, in the report: ProCom Vent-Less Gas Heater
Dear Sir/Madam:
This letter is to provide a warning to the consumers in your state about the unethical, and like illegal, business practices of ProCom Heating, Inc of 2 710 Industrial Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
I purchased a vent-less gas heater from them and installed it. went well and worked well. Then on July 1411> I ordered a second heater from them. I received the heater July 24th and installed same the 25’” of July. Due to a defective regulator I was unable to stop the gas from leaking and after 3 attempts I stopped and called the company’s customer support number of 1-877-886-5989.
After a conversation with someone called [REDACTED] according to her instructions I returned the heater, however I had to return it at my cost as ProCom refused to provide a return label for paying the fee. [REDACTED] noted they would inspect the unit within 3 business days at which point they would ship me a replacement heater.
So on July 26th I sent the heater back to ProCom at a cost of $32.79 and noted the heater was delivered to them on July 30th.
Up to this point my cost has been $152.99 for the heater and additional $32.79 for return shipping. I kept waiting on replacement heater, however it never came. Finally on September 6th I called the support number again. Got a different person and had to explain everything. She advised she would get back to me via e-mail within one day. That e-mail never arrived, however I received one from the company that I was being given a refund.
Only thing I noted was they are refunding me minus a restocking fee of $45.15 and nothing was provided for my expense of shipping the defective unit back.
The bogus part of this is::: The returned unit is defective and will not work so for them to “Restock’’ the unit is an out and out lie.
This organization, ProCom Heating Inc, needs to be investigated and should be prohibited from doing business. I checked for reviews of ProCom on [REDACTED] and there are 54 customer complaints on file.
I found ProCom Heaters are also sold by Home Depot, Amazon.com also along with others. I would guess that most sellers would suspend their relationship with ProCom when they do an investigation.
What I have done - put together an invoice for full price refund of $152. 99 plus shipping to return it of $32. 79 and noted it was a demand for full refund and expenses.

The product, in the report: Heating Stove Gas Valve
The consumer indicates that the original gas valve that came with his heating stove became defective. The consumer ordered a replacement gas valve however this unit was defective upon delivery and so he ordered a second replacement. This second replacement became defective after approximately one month and-a-half. The consumer indicates that the gas valves are rupturing the diaphragm, which in turn blows them up and allows leaking of gas, and possible starts of fires.
12/04/2017 - The consumer indicates the heating stove was being used when flames started shooting from top of the unit where the gas valve is located.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; he was informed that he had to order a replacement gas valve online however the consumer does not feel safe using another gas valve from the same manufacturer.
The consumer states that the heating stove is used only during Winter season for approximately eight hours a day.

The product, in the report: Wall heater fueled by gas line
This caller purchased a wall heater approximately three years ago from retailer in [REDACTED]. The heater is connected to a gas line on a wall in a Sun Room. She had no problems with the heater until March 29th, 2017 when her son who informed her that he had been standing around the area where the heater is placed on the wall, he walked away and the heater just exploded. There is a tempered glass insert at the front of the two foot wide heater that shattered all over the front of the heater, on the floor directly in front of it and went out onto the area of three feet from it. She states that she is reporting this as a severe hazard of laceration due to the force of the explosion as well as the larger pieces of glass that flew out from it. There are no injuries being reported She did try to contact the Pro Con Heating, numerous times since the day after the incident when she spoke with [REDACTED] [REDACTED] took a report but did not provide a report number although this caller sent pictures also.
