The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 11, 2026, sent to the company Jan 14, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 4, 2026

The product, in the report: Propane Radiant Heater

I removed the new heater from the box. Attached the propane tanks and started the heater per instructions. The heater seemed to start correctly and then suddenly burst into flames. I removed the heater from the room it was in, to the patio where it burned until the propane tanks ran out.

The product, in the report: Dyna- Glo Gas space heater 30,000 BTU

I use this “Dyna-Glo” 30000 BTU heater on a frequent basis. It is very badly engineered/desidgned in my opinion. To start off with, and i know this isnt necessarily within the CPSC’s purview, the controls are designed so that it goe from pilot flame to FULL . it then goes to medium, and then low. I”m not afraid of gas, I used to be a Gas Serviceman so I understand. My main complaint is the poorly designed controls, it should go from pilot to low then med, then high.; also it gets very hot when in use. I live alone, but if I had children I’d warn them to stay away from it. I think that heater BARELY pased UL standards, I’m not even sure if its UL listed. The control knob gets very hot to the touch .Safety should never be compromised.

Made Dec 14, 2016, sent to the company Dec 27, 2016, published by CPSC Jan 11, 2017

The product, in the report: Dyna-Glo tank top, dual burner, propane heater.

Dyna Glo Propane Tank top heater control assembly failure.

When in use, noticed a strong propane smell. Heater was shut down and visually inspected. No obvious issue detected by inspection but a soapy water test of all the propane contections revealed significant leakage around the control valve knob. All other connections were tight and did not show any sign of leakage.

Luckily there was no fire but had there been it would have been very difficult to safety the heater since the control valve is inches from the tank valve.

    Unit has been retired.
