Death Made Oct 25, 2025, sent to the company Feb 13, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 2, 2026
The product, in the report: The product was a gas heater & cooker. The label identified the product as an APG Appliance “gas heater & cooker” (model: APG-MD2000) with gas pressure of 0.8 MPa. No serial number located. The product was rectangular, estimated to be approximately one foot long at its longest dimension, and was beige in color. A control knob rotated between “ON” and “OFF,” with five unlabeled markings between. The product fit an 8.0 oz [REDACTED] butane fuel cartridge into the side of it.
It appeared that a butane heater/cooker was used in a closed vehicle. The user was found deceased. Evidence on scene was suggestive of possible carbon monoxide poisoning, though as of writing this is unconfirmed. Pending further examination and testing by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
