The product, in the report: Soleil Halogen Electric Heater Model LH-918, Intertek, Shanghai Mfg. Co. Ltd., made in China

I purchased a Soleil oscillating halogen reflective electric heater Model LH-918 from Ace Hardware on Dec. 20, 2014. The heater worked satisfactorily till about Nov. 10, 2015. I noticed at that time that the heater seemed to shine more brightly than normal. Not long after, the heater began flickering and was making sizzling noises and I jumped up to unplug it. Just as I was about to unplug it a 1-inch flame appeared a couple inches to the left of the heater control. It self-extinguished in several seconds. After the flame went out there was a 1/4-inch hole at the location where the flame had appeared.
