The product, in the report: This item is gray, tubular in shape with heat coming out of one end.
This is a multi fuel-fired portable heater that is being used to heat a barn. I had just recently purchased this item on eBay. After my electric power was lost, then restored, the unit ignited on its own while in the OFF position. I notified the seller of this problem and suggested that they notify the manufacturer about this danger. In the manual, it states not to leave it plugged in as it might ignite on its own. I had accidentally left the unit plugged in the night before. Since many do not even read these fine print manuals it poses a significant danger to all. As far as I know, the eBay seller has not informed the manufacture of this incident. Regardless of what it says in the manual, this is very unsafe, potentially causing a significant fire, loss of property and loss of life.
The seller is [REDACTED]. The item is a factory reconditioned Procom Kerosene Forced Air Heater generating between 160 and 220 thousand BTU’s. In my opinion, this item needs to be recalled and taken off the market.
