The product, in the report: Dreo Smart Wall Mounted Heater (WH517AS), White
The product being used by myself is a, Dreo Wall Mounted Heater, with the model WH517AS. I have noticed two serious issues about this heater. (1) The heater when using heat will generate this awful chemical smell and the hotter the setting the worse it gets; it makes my lips and face very numb and then eventually dizzy after a while which makes me think some material they used inside is reacting to the heat and creating a reaction or possibly creating a neurotoxin of sort for it to be able to do that to my body each time i use it. When i use the Fan only option from a cold starting point i dont notice it at all. (2) the second serious issue is about how the company custom programs their heaters thermostat to work which goes against how one should work, the standards, and the intuitive understanding of how all consumer’s expect them to work. For decades any heater whether HVAC or a portable heater, the thermostat would only go to the users desired set temperature with the exception it might heat up to +1 degrees, but never higher. It would also never turn on again until the temperature fell below the user set temperature. This is part of regulations for a reason, if you have an infant a prodcut needs to be reliable so the user can ensure the device will keep there room within recommended temps; otherwise if the heater was to go higher (like dreo unit does) then it would put the life of the infant at risk possibly leading to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) because the high stress to the babys immature temperature regulation system leading to irregular breathing and heart rate. The reason the Dreo heater is so dangerous to infants is becuase the product does not operate like a normal thermostat and instead the Dreo will heat up to +5 degrees from the set temperature. It will also go back on for 3min every 15min before it even falls back to the set temperature which completer defeats the point and shows that this company has no idea how to make a safe product and put lives at risk because they want to reinvent the wheel with no regard to safety and guidelines. Its also dangerous from the materials they are using that are creating hazardous chemical smells that make a person face numb. This is why Chinese products should be banned in America. I contacted the company and there reasoning was it goes up to +5 degrees to help prevent temp fluctuations and significantly overshooting the goal temperature. It pretty obvious the device is over shooting the set user temp by design!!! This product is dangerous. Im unsure how many of their other products are as well.
