The product, in the report: Arcoaire (International Comfort Products) Packaged Gas Electric Heating & Cooling Unit
An Arcoaire (International Comfort Products) Packaged Gas Electric Heating & Cooling Unit caught fire inside of the unit and emitted significant smoke/fumes inside the residence prompting the homeowner to immediately shut off power and gas to the unit. Upon inspection, the damage was isolated to the unit itself and burned the insulation and wiring inside of the unit. Apparently the thermal overtemp failsafe’s in the unit did not shut down an overheating fire box nor ensure the blower was concurrently engaged while the heating unit was engaged. The unit is estimated to be approximately a 2002 year model number PGC042K080B and serial number L0027 16712.
