The product, in the report: Airconditioner

To whom it may concern Airconditioner Sharp serial number1620368 model af 08bml I have reported this to the company in which they felt no urgency or responsibility since i no longer had a receipt for the item said it was old , no longer there problem i am gathering . has not been recalled that i am aware of . No where on the instructions did it say it was a one season item or that it could cause fire. The air conditioner was plugged into a outlet by itself , we had smelled a strange smell the day prior and the next day identified smoke and found the cord to be on fire it was not obstructed by anything , My house has no electrical issues and the new appliance plugged in and started right up without incident Had this event of occurred while we were sleeping it had the potential of killing my whole family. If the device is only suppose to stay in service for a certain period of time should that not be listed on the manufacturers manual. I am not sure why they feel they can sell a product and once its sold they feel as if they are no longer liable , especially since they do not identify it in the owners manual . Please look into this matter it almost cost the lives of my family and has the potential of killing someone else s family , maybe they need to recall all this model Thank you [REDACTED]
