Midea Hisense air conditioner 8,000 btu Model AW0822CW1W I purchased this air conditioner summer of 2024 from Lowes. From the beginning I felt as if the unit didnt get my small room cold enough. I also felt like at times it was bringing in a lot of humidity. Similar to last summer, this year I am getting a lot of upper respiratory issues since Ive turned it on this summer season. Throughout the day I have no respiratory issues. It is only when I sleep in that room with the unit running, I have itchy throat through the night and soar throat every morning.

The product, in the report: Portable AC unit measuring approximately 2’ tall x 1’ wide x 1’ long. Grey in color with two large white hoses for a supply and exhaust.

A Hisense portable AC unit begin to develop rust on the internal screen. After attempting to remove rust with a dry paper towel, a large amount black particulates was discovered coming off the screen. Given the screen is located in the vent that blows out cold air, it can be assumed these particulates had been being blown into the air and potentially inhaled by myself, my wife, and my new daughter.
