The product, in the report: Haier portable air conditioner

Sent this to the manufacturer: This unit worked fine for a few years but this past month started acting up. It would trip a house fuse repeatedly. I thought it was my home’s electrical issue but electrician found a burned out outlet inside wall. Tried using A/C after repair but kept tripping fuse. I ran an extension cord to try different outlet and the A/C worked but we noticed after a while that the extension cord began melting. It caused smoke and nearly a fire. I have pictures if you wish to see. Obviously I have stopped using the unit. Thank you.

The product, in the report: Haier 10000 btu portable air conditioner model number hpp10xct-lw serial number ag016pm0100ntgcd0705

Haier 10000 BTU portable air conditioner model number hpp10xct-lw serial number ag016pm0100ntgcd0705 Purchased 8/18/2017 Wal-mart Store #6370d 4331 W. Andrew Johnson Highway Morristown TN 37814 (423)254-6671 Purchase Price $295.23

Immediately after turning on the unit my lips and tongue started to burn. Thinking it was just an issue with new plastic or solvent that had to air out I opened the windows and turned on the bathroom vent and let it run for about an hour. I felt worse, even got dizzy. I disconnected the unit, boxed it back up and aired out the house. We were gone about 4 hours while taking the unit back and going out to eat and I felt fine during that time. As soon as we returned home my mouth started tingling again and my tongue and face started as well and I got dizzy. I’m up at 3AM right now filling out this report because I found a review from someone online that sounded very similar. See: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/haier-air-conditioner.html “ Every time I’ve used the floor model ac I’ve gotten sick, not cold sick, but dizzy and lightheaded and shaky. It got so bad that I had to go to the ER. It happened to my son and my roommate as well. My window ac does not have this effect on anyone. Wasted money and I will not be using it anymore. “
