Hurt, care not known Made Oct 7, 2026, sent to the company Oct 20, 2026, published by CPSC Nov 3, 2026
The product, in the report: two units bought and sold as new old boxed brand new came with manual and one year full coverage, and 5 year warranty for refrigeration system all part etc installed one in 2023 the other in july of 2025. One unit was under the one year warranty when reported , the other and both are still under the 5 year warranty. I registered them in my name when I was handed the manual and warranty when were installed in my condo living room and bedroom. We were dealing with 100 degree heat and I also had an ESA CHF military family member cat recovering from surgery and on medications and it was imperative while he was recovering that the area be COOL.This incident involves the simultaneous failure of two identical GE units Model AGV12ABG purchased brand-new from Sound Investment Liquidators in Xenia, Ohio, both failing under an active GE manufacturer warranty. The severe electrical hazard of the 2025 unit and the thermal compressor failure of the 2023 unitcombined with total service failure and abandonment by GE’s factory technician, [REDACTED]trapped a disabled citizen inside a home where internal temperatures reached a lethal 100 degrees. This prolonged, extreme heat exposure directly triggered a fatal medical crisis in my military Emotional Support Animal, resulting in the tragic death of my cat, and caused personal injury to myself. GE Appliances has formally refused to replace these hazardous, unrepairable units despite their being under an active 5-year manufacturer warranty. I am requesting an immediate federal safety investigation into this model line’s electrical and mechanical defect and their way of handling to include justice for contributing to the death of the cat which was clearly noted to [REDACTED] about how important it was to get them working. No empathy from customer relations whatsever.

No one hurt Made Jun 20, 2021, sent to the company Jul 8, 2021, published by CPSC Jul 22, 2021
The product, in the report: GE window air conditioning unit
I found that certain GE Appliances window air conditioning units are defective. They are either leaking flammable refrigerant R-410A/R-32 or at risk of doing so later. This is because at the factory, they have used very long screws that are drilled into the radiator and the refrigerant pipes. After finding this defect in the first unit I purchased, GE assured me it’s an isolate issue. So after returning the item, I purchased another unit which has the exact same issue.
