The product, in the report: This is a portable air conditioner. It is on wheels, vents through a window, and plugs into a normal 115v AC wall outlet.
My CCH Appliance, Model YPL3, 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner stopped working around 8/15/2019. I looked at the AC plug to find it had overheated to the point of fusing to my wall outlet. I believe that any electrical device that can get that hot at the electrical receptacle is a safety/fire hazard and should be recalled. (this model is still being offered for sale) I have owned this appliance for about 13 months.
I have written to the company but, after over two weeks, there has been no response.
My concern is that someone’s home might catch fire from this defective unit.
