The product, in the report: Product # FED003610A001E Model # FED003610 Manufacture date: Nov. 2020 Lewisburg, Tennessee
The Carrier Comfort Home AC Unit has a faulty condensation drain system that causes the system to leak instead of flow through the condensation line. The insurance adjuster said there are several model numbers with this flaw. Ours is one of them on their list. He also stated that Carrier is the only one that knows how to fix it. The excess water has caused water damage to the walls, and kitchen cabinets. Black mold is on all three walls where unit is housed, kitchen wall and laundry room area. This is a [REDACTED] mobile home which puts these units in their homes at the plant in Texas. Unsure if other [REDACTED] manufacturing plants use these. Product # Fed003610 Carrier SmartComfort

The product, in the report: It is a 52 S tpac air conditioner/heater I have two of them in the sunroom. They have been used very infrequently. They are mounted in the walls of the sunroom.
carrier 52S air conditioner plug burned/charred burned the electrical socket and blackened the wall and floor. My sunroom was filled with smoke and smelled like an electrical fire. If I had carpet it would probably caught on fire.

The product, in the report: Carrier AH2 air conditioner blower circuit board with Tyco power supply
The blower circuit board in one of our air conditioning units appears to have blown and caught fire. The fire luckily self-extinguished but the unit was located in our attic and could have had a much different result.

No one hurt Made Mar 21, 2013, sent to the company Apr 10, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 24, 2013
The product, in the report: Carrier PTAC heating and Air Conditioning unit.
On 3/3/2013 the power plug on the Carrier PTAC unit overheated and caught fire. The plug has a built in GFCI device. The plastic housing on the 220 volt plug melted and small flames burned the wall outlet and the wall above the electrical outlet that the plug was plugged into. There were no combustible materials near the plug, so the fire did not extend beyond the plug and burn marks on the wall.
The facility name is: Woodcliff Lake Health $ Rehabilitation Center 201-391-0900.

purchased carrier air conditioner10/26/09 summer month’s no problem when winter sets in the ouside unit comes out of defrost mode and triggers the inside unit to dispuse an acidric odor all night long when unit is called upon for heat [ not em heat ] . original contractor had to change out indoor coil and everything was fine until the next calling for heat. this contractor and carrier a/c now came up with wording of dirty sock syndrome and will not attack the problem of breathing acid fumes. we then went with a new service firm and stated right away it was a defective indoor coil and had to be replaced [ covered under warranty but i pay installation charge] this worked for a short time untill this winter and fumes made my wife & sick. they then said defective heat strip and changed out. next night same episode. they then proceeded to clean and wash i/d coil . still the same problem tech rep came out from carrier and created the acid odor . 2 witnesses verified this. now carrier wants to install a Air Knight Reme air purification system asap, needless to say i have 2 carrier ultrallight U V units built into unit now and now the only thing they can up with is more bulbs.i have reached my end of the line as to solve a health problem my wife and i cannot endure anymore..what has me confused carrier states the 2 uv lights i have made by carrier really does not accomplish anything!!!!! i believe carrier shoud fess up to this health problem before a grave sickness or disaster takes place.and change out entire uni ts as warranty states. please help

Hurt, no treatment Made Aug 18, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 9, 2011
The product, in the report: CARRIER AIR CONDITIONING UNIT - DEFFECTIVE COILS
On Sunday, June 26th we noticed the AC unit that covers our upstairs and master bedroom was not cooling properly. On Monday, June 27th we contacted Stan’s Heating and Air and made an appointment to have it checked.
The technician who inspected the unit informed us that both of our units were leaking coolant because of defective coils. He also informed us this was a known problem with units manufactured between 2004 and 2007 and they had been replacing them.
The technician recharged both the units telling us he would have to order the parts and we would have to schedule the repair at a later date. Carrier would pay for the parts but we would have to pay for the cost of the labor.
On Thursday morning, June 30th our 13 year old daughter complained she was dizzy and nauseas. Thinking she was just not feeling well I gave her some [redacted] and she lay down on the living room sofa. A short time later we left the house for several hours. Not long after being out of the house she said she felt better.
On Friday morning, July 1st I went upstairs to work out. Towards the end of my routine I started feeling nauseas and light headed. I told my husband I wasn’t feeling well when I came back downstairs. He complained that he too was not feeling well. The feeling persisted on and off throughout the day and I became increasingly more tired. Sometime in the afternoon we noticed the AC unit was again not cooling the upstairs or the master bedroom.
Coincidently, the HVAC Company called us that afternoon because they had tried to run our credit card for the labor charges but the technician had written the card number down incorrectly. While speaking to them my husband mentioned the one unit was again not cooling. They had a technician in the area and said they would send him over to recharge the unit again.
In the meantime, I became so tired I went to the master bedroom to lie down. When the technician arrived he checked both units again and informed us the upstairs unit was out of coolant and the other unit was down 4 lbs. He said he was not comfortable recharging the upstairs unit with it leaking that fast. The technician asked my husband if everyone was feeling alright. My husband told him no, I wasn’t feeling well and I was lying down. After telling the technician what my symptoms were, the technician suggested my husband wake me up and get me out in the fresh air. He also suggested we open the windows, run a fan and leave the house.
We of course complied immediately. Within an hour or so after leaving the house I began to feel better.
