  1. No one hurt

Made May 13, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 7, 2011

The product, in the report: Island Range Hood by VENETO, model # 9004. 36”x23”x19.5”. Telescopic chimney extends uo to 39”. Stainless Steel. Vent-less.Blower and halogen lights.

An Island Range Hood, unvented, caught on fire during the night. The fire department investigation said that it was the wiring and motor in the device that burned and caused the fire (flames and smoke). We have had the hood for about 6 years and have had no problems. The brand name is: VENETO. The model NO.: RH-island-9004.

I have tried to call the Factory Store on the west coast, but no answer and the mail box was full, so I could not leave a message.

I would like to know if any others of this product have resulted in a fire.
