I am reporting this incident because I was genuinely terrified.

Product: Sun Squad Portable Fans (battery-operated handheld water misting fans).

Both the fan blade and end cap popped off, exposing a blunt metal needle the length of an infant [REDACTED] syringe tip.

Full details of the event: I purchased several Sun Squad handheld misting fans for a family party. It was purchased in-store at Target, beside Sun Squadpool toys and childrens flotation devices. I got these misting fans for the family (of varying ages, toddler to middle schooler). The end caps fell off during use but also easily pop off, exposing a protruding metal needle that spins. There are multiple hazards:

    - The end caps can fall off, presenting a choking hazard. - The caps are choking hazards. - The protruding metal is a hazard.

There were no injuries during use, and I took them away. It was a terrifying experience. To be fair, you would think people would stop using a product when that happens, but they continued on. When the end caps came off, exposing the blunt needle, it didn’t impact the functionality of the sprayer, so everyone continued using the product.

The needle doesn’t have a sharp tip. It is a metal needle the size of a syringe tip, protruding outward that doesn’t retract. It could potentially injure an eye. The cap is a chocking hazard.
