Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Style Selections # 5216143 13-in Blade less Desk Fan Ventilator Matte White Finish Compact and portable design Digital power control button USB-A power cord

Last year, I made a purchase at Lowes Home Improvement for a Style Selections 13-inch Bladeless Desk Fan in March or April. Unfortunately, the unit caught fire, destroying my carpet and causing me bodily injury. The USB-A code ignited, burning the units plug and causing a metal piece to fall onto my foot, resulting in first-degree burns. I contacted Lowes Home Improvement to seek assistance, but the process was extremely distressing. The vendor (Lowes) connected to another vendor (Style Selections) within the company, who then took over the claim. I was only contacted by their insurance company, which has been unable to provide any support. I have had three different adjusters who repeatedly requested that I resubmit the same information. At this point, this situation is negatively impacting my mental well-being and I cannot afford to continue this process. I will not allow this to happen. I have been attempting to resolve this issue for over a year. During this time the insurance company adjuster went missing during a critical phase of my claim. On August 27th I contacted them because the company adjuster has been absent for seven months. This situation is highly frustrating and disappointing for these companies to attempt to exploit their consumers. I will not tolerate this behavior.
