The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Table fan with a gimmick - no front grille and rubber blades. Still 120V and moves sufficient air.

I bought two SoleusAir 8 In Table Fans. Model FT1-20-10. The first one stopped spinning and started emitting noxious burning rubber fumes (the blades are rubber) about 3 months after purchase. The second one did the same thing today. The first one I threw away, the second one I still have if you want it. Note - This is a coverless fan with rubber blades, but the problem is not related to blade injury, but to friction between the metal spindle and the rubber blades. The housing around the motor turns brown and is distorted from the overheating motor. Again, both fans experienced the same problem but at different times and in different rooms. I do not have children, so they cannot be blamed.
