The product, in the report: Rite Aid Desk Fan
On 6/9/11, I purchased a small desk fan from Rite Aid Pharmacy on Richmond Ave in Staten Island, NY. The fan worked fine and there were multiple warnings on the proper way to use the fan. However, I did not notice that their was an additional warning on the bottom of the outside of the box until I had already plugged the fan in and started using it.
The warning read: “Handling this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known by the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
I found this extremely disburbing because I was 8 months pregnant when I brougt th fan. I returned it back to the store, but I don’t think anyone should be allowed to use this product because most people will not notice the warning because it only appears on the bottom on the outside of the box.
