The product, in the report: Range Hood Kitchen Aid kxw9736yss
With my new home I purchased a range hood Brand is Kitchen Aid model is kxw9736yss.
The switch that controls the operation of this unit is their part number Item #: 1878923 “control panel”. It has all the electrical connection to control the fan, and lights housed in a plastic case. This plastic case failed after 1 year and 3 months of service. It cracked, fell apart and exposed wires. I purchased a new one which failed after 6 months of service.
This is an electrical shock hazard. I looked at reviews of this product and see several referencing failed control panels.
Kitchen aid needs to issue a recall and get these fixed before someone gets electrocuted.

The product, in the report: Kitchenaid stanless microwave vent cover unit
We purchased a Kitchenaid stainless microwave in October 2008. In the middle of the night while sleeping, were were awakened by a violent noise. Our microwave’s vent cover unit detacedh and fell with such force on our stove top below it severely dented the stainless strips on the sides of our cook top and woke us out of a dead sleep.
While inspecting the unit, the cause of the unit detaching and falling off was the plastic casing broke around the screws on the vent insert (black plastic unit inside the stainless steel cover).
Had this detached and fallen while cooking it could have easily caused an oil fire, or severe burns to my family.
When I contacted Kitchenaid they basically told us our choices were to pay out of pocket for a service call or pay nearly $90 for the part. There are numerous complaints online about this part failure, yet there was no recall notice.
