The product, in the report: Camair, Aerospeed 20” Box Fan Model BX100

    Dear Camair LLC:

Several years ago, I purchased new your Aerospeed 20” Box Fan Model BX 100. It worked fine until last night. I had placed it in a window, turned it on, and left the room. Less than ten minutes later, I smelled something burning. I went back into the room and saw that the fan had stopped and that its center was glowing. I immediately disconnected the plug, but the glowing continued and a small flame appeared. I took the fan outdoors and threw water on it, extinguishing the fire. As best I can make out (some. of the numbers and letters are faint), the following information is imprinted on the bottom of the fan: lntertek 3190159 CONFORMS TO UL STD 507 AND CSA C222 NO 113

MODEL BX 100 120 v 60 HZ 0.57A THERMALLY PROTECTED CAMAIR CHICAGO IL 60632 DATE CODE 8 (possibly “08”) PATENT PENDING

I am writing to inform you of this problem so that you may take whatever action is required or appropriate. I will retain the fan until Aug. 31, 2022.

    Very truly yours
