  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 7, 2025, sent to the company Aug 11, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 25, 2025

The product, in the report: bought on Amazon AMACOOL Baby Stroller Fan - 5000mAh Rechargeable, 3-Speed, Strong Yet Quiet, 360Rotate Portable Clip on Fan for Travel, Car Seat, Crib, Bike, Treadmill, Beach Vacation Essentials

Amacool stroller fan has rubber caps on the three legs to attach it to the stroller. Our 10 month old pulled off the rubber cap off the end of one of the attachment legs andput it in her mouth and could have choked. The caps are not screwed or glued on and very easy for a baby to pull off and put in their mouth and possibly choke.

We attached the Amacool stoller fan to our 13mo old’s stroller to keep her cool. Because it was also sunny, I had pulled our stroller’s sun cover out to protect her skin, which admittedly obstructed my direct view of where the fan was attached. While she was in the stroller, she was able to detach the silicone covering of the distal aspect of the attachment legs. It was only when I stopped walking to take a picture of my kids that I noticed she was struggling with something in her mouth.

The product, in the report: Stroller Fan

I have had now TWO very scary close choking incidents with my daughter’s stroller fan. *the fan is no longer on her stroller bar* A few months ago my daughter was able (9 month old) pull a rubber bottom off one of the three fan legs off. I noticed this once I got home and took her out of the stroller. I took the two other pieces off and thought I had done enough... Fast forward to today and I hear her making unusual noises so l look at her and see a piece of the soft foam on her mouth and another piece on her shirt. I’m so upset at myself for not removing the fan earlier. The legs of the fan have these hard plastic or rubber cover caps that my 9month old removed. I did not save these pieces so I do not have any photos to reference but you can clearly see them in the advertisement on Amazon. And you can clearly see they have been removed on the photos I sent to safeproducts.gov.

The product, in the report: Description pulled directly from Amazon product listing: AMACOOL Battery Operated Stroller Fan Flexible Tripod Clip On Fan with 3 Speeds and Rotatable Handheld Personal Fan for Car Seat Crib Bike Treadmill (Black)

The rubber/silicone foot of the bendable leg on a stroller fan detached. The product is marketed as safe to use with children and babies (see attached photos), but the size of the rubber or silicone foot presents a choking hazard. My son (9 months) was manipulating the legs of the fan and the foot detached. At this point it is missing, and it is unknown whether or not it was ingested. At this time it is unknown if any injuries occured. There was no choking, but it remains to be seen as to whether or not the removed silicone foot was ingested.
