The product, in the report: pedestal-mounted household cooling fan
The product is a household cooling fan that mounts on top a pole held by a pedestal on the floor. The AC power cord runs up the interior of this pole, which is made of 2 telescoping steel tubes. In my sample of the product, and the upper tube has a sharp flake of steel at the top that could cut through the plastic insulation of the power cord. This flake of steel is probably a scrap of leftover welding rod.
I have not assembled nor operated this product. No injuries have resulted.
