The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Kat’s 1153 Handi-Heat 200 Watt Magnetic Heater

    Kat’s 1153 Handi-Heat 200 Watt Magnetic Heater

I used this heater for several winter seasons without event. Then last winter I opened the garage to find burning smell and the item burned out from the inside out. It burned the wiring and plastic inside the heater and burned back to the wire inlet. This is after carefully using the heater. I’m thankful there was nothing combustible next to this heater. After seeing similar “meltdown” and overheating reviews at amazon.com my advice is to STAY AWAY from this product and never use it.
