First aid Made Dec 17, 2013, sent to the company Dec 26, 2013, published by CPSC Jan 10, 2014
The product, in the report: Touch Point black electric convection heater. Model No. BBC-1500 Made in China. About 2ft long, 6in wide, and 12in tall. All black with a black metal netting on the top. Two knobs on the top edge. One that controls power and another that control temp.
Started smelling an electrical burning smell throughout the house. Tracked it down to the heater. When I attempted to turn it off, the knob had melted, burned and stuck to my fingers. The area around the knob had also melted. I immediately unplugged the unit from the wall. There was no damage to my house, or property but a mild burn on my left index finger, and thumb.
