The product, in the report: Taotronics ptc fan heater
The safety plunger under the unit is not working properly. The unit is a taotronics PTC Fan heater model TT-HE008. The safety plunger is supposed to prevent the unit from operating if there is any movement or if it is knocked over. For some unknown reason the safety plunger is working in reverse, if the unit is upright and properly situated it will not turn on but if you tilt it or even put it on its side the unit will turn on. My wife and I use this unit when we were in our basement utilizing our computer because it is often chilly down there. The product was being used properly as per their manual. There were no injuries but obviously if the unit where to be knocked over and kept operating the risk of fire is very high.
