The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

No one hurt Made Dec 10, 2014, sent to the company Dec 18, 2014, published by CPSC Jan 6, 2015
The product, in the report: SoleusAir, 1500Watt, flat panel micathermic heater, model# HGW-308R
We were using the product as it was intended against a wall near an outlet when it spontaneously failed electrically. Smoke and fire was seen emitting from behind the cover as well as sparks. Almost immediately the smell of an electrical fire (burning plastic, copper) filled the house. Fortunately for us we were in the room and I immediately pulled the plug stopping any further electrical fire or fire spread. Had I not been in the room this may not have been the case or if I had been asleep as I used this heater to heat a colder portion of our house using the unit’s built in temperature thermostat.
This product is a serious fire hazard as I’ve seen this same issue has been reported numerous time with this same exact model by other consumers. It is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed because of this faulty product.
I will also note that I immediately made an attempt to contact SoleusAir support by calling their contact number stenciled on the back of the product and was directed straight to voice mail both times I called. I looked up their website and attempted to initiate a support/warranty request on their website and there is no way of doing so at all. They have a couple of pages describing how to receive support on their website but there exists no page to do so or no links to any such pages anywhere on their website. The only other contact point they left other than their mailing address was a contact email which I emailed to start a support request.

No one hurt Made Dec 26, 2013, sent to the company Jan 6, 2014, published by CPSC Jan 21, 2014
The product, in the report: SoleusAir space heater Model: HGW-308R Flat panel micathermic heater case number with soleusAir [REDACTED]
I purchased a space heater Soleusair Model HGW-308R. The first one sparked and shorted out. The replacement sparked and then had flames coming out of it. I asked for a refund for this burned unit and a second one in my house and the company is not so far forth coming. These units feel very unsafe to me and should be recalled, in my opinion.

No one hurt Made Nov 2, 2012, sent to the company Nov 19, 2012, published by CPSC Dec 4, 2012
The product, in the report: Portable electric heater. MFG Soleus Air. Produce:Flat Panel Heater. Model No. GHW-308R-W DB
We purchased 2 portable electrical heaters made by Soleus Air company about 2 seasons ago. Today one of the heaters went “poof” and smoke started to come out of the unit. If the unit is shorting out then something is wrong. I spoke with the company, told them what happened and asked if a recall was on these units, they said no. I advised that this issue is bad and if we were not there it could have caused a fire. Their answer was “could have, would have, but a fire didn’t happen”. You are not under warranty so all we can do is tell you to buy another heater.
These heaters are not the $29 heaters, they cost about $100 a piece. If they are faulty, it needs to be corrected, there are enough fires in homes throughout the winter.
Thank you for your assistance.
