  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Lorell forced fan space heater, black Model LLR84163(NF-15-9BJ)

Was using space heater in my office when I started to smell something, it smelled like burnt plastic and I looked down at the space heater and it was engulfed in flames. I unplugged it from the wall and was able to rush it to the bathroom sink to put the flame out before getting burnt. Hoping I don’t have anything other then the headache from the inhalation, the smell filled my downstairs but it was a small enough and contained fire it should air out here soon.

After it was cooled down I inspected the space heater to see if potentially something has been stuck inside. There were no visual indications of this but one of the electric wires was hanging down, it appears that the fire started where that wire connected to a metal terminal in the unit.

Had I not been able to response as quickly as I was this could have been a very different story for my family.
