Tested item and never actually used the item for my Mother-in-law’s room because of concerns of potential fire or accidental burning from handling the item.

The product, in the report: portable electric smart heaters
10/17/2024: The electric company came to check her home, but they left and returned the next day.
10/18/2024: The electric company technician showed her the main electric, outdoor meter, because there were some areas of melting to it. The prongs that connect the meter to her home had melted. The electric company technician did not come inside the consumer’s home, so other areas of the home were not checked.
The technician disconnected the power from the street to her home. She lived without heat or power in her home for a period.
10/2024: An electrician came out and inspected her home but could not find anything wrong. However, the technicians said that they thought the heaters could have caused power surges/outages.
11/2024: Another electrician came out and indicated that they thought the heaters could have surged and caused arcing in her home.
11/14/2024: An electrician came out and repaired cable line that connects her exterior electric meter to her electric panel. The technician also agreed with the prior two technicians, that the heaters could have caused the issue. The consumer paid $700 for the repair work.
NOTE: The consumer controlled the heaters with the WIFI. She never noticed any damage to the electric items in her home, but based on the recall is extremely concerned of the past fire potential.
In some cases, the consumer used approximately 3 heaters, at the same time, in different rooms of her home.
(around 11/7/2024): A message popped up in the consumer’s email related to the recall CPSC Recall 25-036.
11/12/2024: The consumer called the recall company and left them a voice message. She is waiting for a return call.
